Default Restoring 65 Coupe Fresh Air Vent repair

I am working my 65 Coupe and after putting in the new floor pans I started working under the dash working on the heater box blower motor and found that the 3 bolts holding the fresh air vent on the drivers side are broken. Can I get to them by taking the drivers side fender off? Thanks to anyone that can give me some info

If they're broken, how was the vent held in place? If its the bolts I think you're referring to, no, you can't repair it from the fend side. And you don't want to use screws because this would likely result in a cowl leak. I would cut the heads off compatible bolts and tack them into place with a welder. Be very careful, use a light setting to insure you don't blow through the bottom of the cowl.

Thanks for the info. yes it's the 3 studs holding the fresh air vent in place. When I bought the mustang the vent was laying in the trunk. I guess at least it was there.

Thanks
