Seats can be done in under four hours, and carpet in about an hour. That's what I would charge, and I've done hundreds of sets of upholstery. I would be happy to show you and help you for half that. I'm in the DFW area. Send me an E-mail. Mrmust@juno.com.

Hell If I was given a qoute of $300 for the seat upholstery install I would not have done it myself..... In San Diego the lowest quote was $550
and $150 to have a professional walk you through it??? Go for IT!

I just paid $400 to have my front seats recovered. It was steep but the headaches and frustration of doing them ourselves and the chance of them not turning out, paying for them to be done sounded better at the time. But then again if that's all you're needing or wanting to do to your car then perhaps a few days of headaches doesn't sound too bad.

Okay, thank you all for the additional feedback. I went with a guy I know who has never done this before. He has done extensive work for me before (engine build, body repair). He upgraded the internals of the seats and repaired some metal surface rust on the floor (with POR). I don't have a price for the specific items but he bundled the work with several other items for a discounted price for the whole list of things.

Ordinarily, I'd agree with you, but the small custom car shop that did my interior had never done a Mustang before and did a great job. The seats look better than the ones my husband and I did. The whole interior looks awesome.
