"Shelby Drop" Question (off-center pilot hole)
#11
Well, I did the other side. And darn, if using the bolts in the arm as a guide didn't make it easy as cake. I left the spindle hooked up, and undid the two bolts, then made sure the bolts were still pushed all the way through the pivot bar and the pivot bar was pivoted all the way "up".
I took a six inch rule, and used it to define the vertical center line of the hole on one side, only 1 inch down. I then lined one bolt up to the 6 inch rule and held it fast, and checked the other side. It lined up perfectly, 1 inch down and square. I rechecked both twice, then hit one side with an automatic center punch. I realigned them both up again, re-measuring for good measure, and then hit the other side with the automatic center punch.
It was then just a matter of drilling pilot holes, reconfirming their accuracy and then finish boring it. This time both bolts pressed through with an audible "click" sound.
Super easy. And my Shelby Drop is complete. Now I move on to the Scott Drake 1 1/8 inch sway bar.

You'd think so. But I broke a rib wrenching on one of those nuts while leaning over the fender. This officially sucks. It was the dumbest thing; It hardly took any force at all to loosen that nut, but as it broke free, I heard an audible "snap" on the right side of my torso, and now I am sore as heck.
