Cali model water pump question

Default Cali model water pump question

im working on replacing my Cali 1966 mustang water pump (289), my car has the cali smog stuff on it, looking at the new and old water pumps, im missing a mounting hole on the new pump, see pic.

Is that just a bolt hole? If so the new version might not use it and it can just be left alone or sealed.

It is a bolt hole, which is his problem. It's a mounting hole for the smog pump bracket, if I get what he's saying.

That's tricky. You may need to go through a few rebuilt units to find one with that mounting boss, and even then, you may have to drill and tap it yourself.

Call CJ's or NPD if it turns in to too much of a nut roll.

More than likely they'll be able to hook a brother up.

He mean's CJ Pony or National Parts Depot. You've just learned the first rule of working on old Mustangs. Don't go to the local parts store, they will screw you through ignorance.

CJ Pony will get you the correct part, at a reasonable part, and shipping is free. But you'll have a better chance of getting the correct part.
