Default Auto Meter Phantom fuel gauge broken?

My fuel gauge is stuck on full. The needle is pegged all the way to the right. It couldn't turn anymore clockwise. I disconnected it and pulled it out of the dash and it's still stuck all the way to the right. Is it broken, or does it need power to reset itself?

Contact Autometer????

Normally if you ground the sender wire, the guage will go open (past full on factory guage), but the needle will drop if you take the ground away.
