Default Door Window Top Frame

So, I am restoring my dream car a 1968 Mustang coup.
The rookie I am took off the top frame of my door windows before I realized that I couldn't find the weatherstripping to put them back on with. I've tried the liquid weatherstripping and made a mess. Plan B was double sided trim tape but it's not sticking well.
Does anyone have any solutions other then buy the new ones with the glass already attached?
