Default where should i set my rev limiter

i have a 66 289 block, line honed
original crank and rods balanced with arp studs
hyperutectic pistons
Trick Flow 170cc heads with the 125lb springs
lunati cam Camshaft, Hydraulic Flat Tappet, Advertised Duration 268/276, Lift .522/.538, Ford, Small Block, Each with a power band 1800-6200
I have a wieand Stealth intake idle-6800rpm
msd with streetfire box
I run 91 octane
I have a 5 speed

I have taken it to just under 7k rpms but afterward i get a little valve tick for about 45 seconds. it keeps pulling the whole time but i dont want to kill it.

due to the cam should i just set it at 6200rpm and call it good

Personally, as long as it doesn't vibrate at high rpm's, I'd set it at 6500.

Take it to a dyno and find out where it stops making power. My curve starts to go down at 5800. I put in a 6k but you should probably go with a 6.5k like previously stated here.

Monster,
Seems that anyone with enough smarts to build the power plant you describe would not need rev limit advice from folks out here you don't even know. 6,200 - 6,300 - 6,400 -6,500 - 6,800 ? Don't really matter what kind of palaver we put on this question, you will eventually find your own personal comfort zone soon enough, probably around 6,400 where the hydraulic valves begin to float.
Best,
Al
