I want to remove the emisions set up..
I really want to take the emission pump and all the extra hoses out of the 67. Its a 289 4bbl with the hoses that go into each head just above the exhaust manifold. Has anyone here done this? Can I just get a plug the correct size and pull the hose connector off? Im sure it works fine. I just dont need or want it. It takes up lots of room and makes things look messy. I will however keep the system for a rainy day. Or to sell to some finatic that needs it to be original.
Thanks,
Justin

I see you're in CA, so you should be smog exempt (i'm in norcal). Anything prior to 1975 is exempt. Its easier than you think. You can purchase ferrule nuts ($8 ea)...part# D5TZ-9B471-A from mustangsplus, you'll need 8 of them, and put these where the air injector screws into the heads. You can unbolt the air pump, and associated hosing and brackets, and remove it. You'll need to retain the PCV from the valve cover to the carb base, but that's about it... Of course, you can always use this as an excuse to pick up a set of decent heads from summit or edelbrock, hint, hint.... Suggest holding on to your smog pump and accessories, their getting rare and costly.

I still have my '67 CA emissions setup sitting in my garage somewhere.
Do you have the style with the steel tubes going into each port, or the style with the single hose going into each head? If the latter, I'm not sure how to plug those. Never figured it out on my heads, and eventually ended up getting new heads, making it a non-issue.

and to OP, put headers on it, you will be glad you did!

The later heads have single hoses going into the ends of the heads through a small threaded port. My '67 smog heads had single hoses going into the heads through a very large hole on the side, next to one of the exhaust ports. No real easy way to block that hole...
