I live on Fort Benning an Army base. They have a really nice garage and also the will rent you a sand blaster for a $1 a hour yes 1 buck per hour. Anyways they said I had to use black Diamond sand. I have a 67 coupe and read different post about this.
Should I sand blast
Should I just use Air Craft thinner and do it by hand or
Should I use sand blasting for the inside, engine bay and undercarriage?

If you dont know how to sand blast, you could warp the panels form heat build up. If the car isnt apart, i would skip the mess of sand blasting and use chemical stripper, but others might think different.

blasting inside, engine bay, jambs, trunck (not qtrs), door thick metal parts (where jam areas meet) and under carriage. Stripper on all rest

when I was in the military I used the auto-shop all the time, amazing group, and civilians have no idea the benefits. I rebuilt my motor and tranny there back in 198something. Go for it! If you're not comfortable, the shop mgrs will step in and give advise. The above comments are valid, I suggest going to a local bone yard and buying cheap scrap panels to practice with before you strip your own stang.

blasting is a hot job...im a fan of the chemical stripper..if you put the stripper down(dont buy the aerosol cans buy it in the gallon jug) if you put down some plastic wrap over where you put the chemical it will let it work longer and not dry out as fast stripping more per application...make sure to wear gloves and glasses(this stuff is caustic obviously)
