Default hertz 1966 mustang

I have my brothers 66 mustang and the original owners card shows it first went to Hertz in SanFrancisco. Would you restore or just make a hot rod out of it ?

Default Hertz mustang

I left out that this is NOT a Shelby GT 350, just a plain old coupe. It was purchased 2-25-66 from west valley motor sales in santa clara. It went to Hertz on post st in sanfrancisco. Is it really worth something or just another 66 mustang ? Thanks

Unless it has some Hertz specific option package then I wouldn't think it would command a premium.
It wouldn't sweeten the pot for me if I was looking to buy.
But what do I know.

Rentals usually have been beaten the **** out of and not taken care of too well by the customer. As stated, unless it is a Hertz GT 350, it will not help you one bit if it was a rental, if it was a new car, it would hurt the value.
Build it the way you want to.

It's not a shelby GT 350 so it isn't going to be worth any more than what a normal 66 is worth. Keep it and make it something special.
