Thank you all.

Yes they are just painted black. We will use these wheels but I'm not sure what color we will go with. I like the mag wheels the best but we're trying to keep this original and within budget!

I think you might be confused. The flat hood with the scoop is very popular..here is what it will look like. I'm wondering if the picture I posted looks like it is a completely flat hood and that's what's confusing you..

Not sure where you are from, but the shakers are more rare than the non-shakers.
OP, I think the Doc is flat out wrong on this one.

We've been working hard to get the engine ready to be dropped in but still have a few things left to do. One being installing the hood hinges for good. We used black SPI epoxy mixed with a little white epoxy to get a dark gray. We're not completely sure, but we might just leave them in this finish.

We also blasted and sprayed SPI black epoxy on the door hinges and then got the fenders in epoxy as well.

I have no clue what his deal is. I saw plenty of Machs (owned one for about a week) that had that kind of hood scoop back in the day.

I believe you...just putting the nail in the coffin.
We've seen claims for mach1s and boss302s before that were mistaken, that's all.
Seems like just about any 302 is a boss302 for a few.

I'll post the Marti Report later just to put it 6 feet under. How's that?

We blasted the door hinges and epoxied them a few days ago. Then we looked at each other and wondered why we did since the primer only has a 7 day window for base, unless later down the road we'd have to sand/scuff and reprime. We've had one heck of a week in the joys of being a homeowner world, so we thought we'd put some color down to brighten our day. Now they will be able to sit and dry for a long while till we're ready to put the doors back on.
