Dynamite and a torch.

Like I said, the shackles are a bitch. Lots of time with a prybar and WD-40 etc.

You are right!!! Lots of time. I used a very short flathead screwdriver, slid it in all around the bushing until I got it loose, then was able to pop it out.

All done except for driver's side front eye bolt. Couldn't break it free. Bolt head rounded off (not by me). Will have to take to shop and let them get that one. Anyway, I wanted to thank you all for your guidance and help. I couldn't have done it properly without you guys. Thanks a lot!!!

BTW, I noticed that when I tightened the shackle bolts to specs (I believe it was 15-22 ft lbs) it seemed to mash the rubber bushings quite a bit on the end. Is that normal?

Yes. The flanged part of the bushing should get squished and distort outward some.

Took the grandkids and the wife for a ride. The longer shackles make the car sit evenly now from front to back - no more low rear end. Rides better with folks in the back seat, too. Pretty solid, yet smooth. Thanks again to you all !!!
