Default 65' spindle trouble...please help

hi all... I have a 65 mustang w/v8 p/s manual drum brakes...and a roached driver side spindle, I want to keep the drums. I have a lead on a spindle from a 67 mustang...C6OA-3108... mine is C6DA-3108. my question is will this spindle work... do I have to change tie rods...or is the taper angle different? thanks for any help

WoW!!

We have a problem here.

There no such thing as a C6DA Spindle.

65 66 V8 is C5DA, or Early was a C4ZA.

C6OA Spindle is a 66 Fairlane, or 67-69 Mustang Spindles (Used TOTALLY in 67 for all cars--6 Cylinder to Shelby, Drum and Disc Brakes)

So bottom line, the spindle you are looking at is a C6OA, and will replace the Spindle you have if a C6OA.

If you have a C5DA--Don't buy it.

ok my bad. its a little hard to read. it is C5DA-3108.and your saying the C6OA-3108 will not work...that answers my question. but is there another bolt-on spindle other than falcon/comet/mustang?

Very loaded question-

The C6OA will bolt on, or Others C3OA, C4ZA, C3DA, will "Work" but the steering arms are different, the Tie Rod pin size Different, and the big one, DO NOT mix up the spindles, a Bad deal, wreck to happen.

I have a 66, I got two spindles and disc brakes from 69 Fairlane, Will I have bump steering issues?
How do I bridge the larger tie rod threaded shaft issue to the adjustmant sleeve. Mustang is 1/2" i think and Fairlane is 5/8"

Yes, its a six cylinder 1966, I want to upgrade to a 302. The Fairlane spindles are the larger bearing type, I assume maybe with larger motor originally in fairlane.
I appreciate the help

When using the C6OA Spindles (69 Fairlane Drum Brake) on a original 6 cylinder 65 66 Mustang, simply install the 65 66 V8 steering system, USING the 67 Mustang outers.

All will bolt on---Of course, get a Good Ole boy that can Hot Rod the alignment. If you go to the local Tire store to get it aligned with the little feller with all the badges on arms, chest, back, etc--Your screwed.

When I started restoring my gt, someone had... "tried" before me and put 6 cylinder steering knuckles on the car. Being a gt car I ofcourse discovered this when I began researching how to convert it back to disc brakes. I don't know why more guys don't talk about it, but you can get brand new 66 mustang v8 knuckles from a company out of texas called CLRP (I believe that was their name) their website is discbrakeswap.com. they don't have them listed on the site, but if you call their number, they'll give you a a very reasonable deal.
