How to clean Valves??
Hi, i am new to this forum, i just bought a 1965 L6 200Ci mustang a couple of weeks ago, and when i removed the valve cover to put in new one this is waht i found. Any ideas on how to clean them without removing them??? I want to clean them before i get the oil change. Thanks in Advance you Guys.

Elbow grease[:@] Seriously though, The pictures dont show all that much. Your gunna have that kidna of sludge in a 40(ish) year old engine. Take them off, take them apart, clean them, maybe lap the valves in, check valve lash, and do headgaskets... save yourself a headache.

Put new gaskets on the cover, and put it back on. What crud you get off will most likely wind up in the gullies below, and you don't want that. Unless you take the head off and take it to a machine shop, there is no quick fix.
