ALIVE!!!!
FINALLY, she's ALIVE!!! Started the '68 for the first time after the EFI 5.0 H.O. and AOD swap. Having some issues with the transmission linkage as you'll see in the first crank vid.........OOPS!!! Everything ok though, no damage!! The shifter is in Park and the transmission is in Reverse. LOL!!
HUGE day for our family though!!! My first project car and between my wife , 16yo son and myself (and a little help with wiring last Sunday), ALL of the work was done by US! First time I've ever done ANYTHING like this. And there have been MANY times I was ready to burn the thing to the ground in frustration!! Perserverance!!!
Obviously there are issues to address prior to driving it, but this was the day we've been waiting for, it runs!!!!
This car is for my son to drive to high school this year and next.........my daughter will drive it her junior and senior year when he leaves for college.
Here is the vid of the very first time it fired up.......and the "oops"......
And here is a vid after sorting it out a little better:

Congratulations! Sounds as smooth as a baby's butt.
lol at the shifter faux pas now but you and yours got away with one there. We'll just file that one under 'emergency braking and reflexes exercise".
That thing is going to be a hoot.

Yeah, tell me about it!! I've had a LOT of issues with the Performance Automatic linkage kit I bought so I could use the stock shifter with the AOD........and this incident is a result of that. Looks like I've got to take the thing apart again. :-(
But right now I'm so happy this thing cranked that I can't stop smiling!!!!
I'm also having an issue with the seal at the fuel tank pickup.....it keeps leaking................I've had it out twice over the last few days and I can't get it to stop!! GRRRRR!!

Looks and sounds awesome! As for the seal, did you coat the O ring with some white lithium grease? I had some issues as well when I replaced my tank with a 22 gal tank, I used some vice grips to bend the tabs a little more and used a rubber mallet and chisel (or flat head screwdiver) and gently tapped the lock ring into place.

Thanks!!
No on the grease.......when I try again I'll do that.
I used a flathead and mallet for the ring..........gently. :-)
