Default 66 wheel size

OK I know this question has been posted a thousand times, but here it goes I'm looking for some new wheels for my 66. Will 17x8 inch wheels fit without scrubbing. Here is the set I'm looking at http://www.wheelsforless.com/AR105M7866B
The backspacing is 5.68 inches. Also let me know what size wheels you have.

You will need a 1.25" spacer for the front for those to work. On the front end of the old cars the max backspacing you can have is 4.5"

What if I do these rims on the front they have a 4 inch backspace. http://www.wheelsforless.com/AR105M7765B
So the 17 by 8s will fit on the back.

Yeah that should work. I'm not exactly sure what the max backspacing for the rear is though.

This chart is also helpful when it comes to wheel fitment.

Thanks I think I'll go with the 17x7 on the front like I had said, and on the back these 17x8s with a 4.5 inch back spacing. http://www.wheelsforless.com/AR105M7865B I can always put in a spacer if there is to much back space .

Do you have any issues with scrubbing? Do you think the 4.5" backspacing will work in the back. Will the 4" backspacing work on the front since the wheels are only 7 inches wide.

I'd be leery about 4" up front, especially with a 7" wheel. My fronts did rub a little, but my car is lowered. I folded in the front edges of the fender and all is well now.

BTW, I'm running 245/45R17 in rear and 225/45R17 in front.

4.5" will be fine for the back

I would not get 4.5" BS on the rear.A 4.75 will allow a wider tire and put the wheel more inward, not towards the fender lip.

I have a 17X8 with 4.75 and 275/40/17, it does rub once in a while, but my car is lower then most. My buddy has the same with 5 leaf springs and it never rubs.
