rust problem :(

Default rust problem :(

Okay, so i'm finally getting around to working on my 65 mustang again! i got a spot for it finally! i'm fully stripping it down and i noticed this small section of rust..

this is a 1965 coupe. and that rust spot is eating through the metal.. and its right behind the driver rear quarter window..

what would be the smartest and safest route to take for this kind of rust and spot?

Grind that area down first to see how bad the metal is. You want to get that rust out first!

grind it out and fix it youll also have to weld that crack. its a pretty common problem area

like Rmodel65 said grind it out other wise you will have rust bleeding through in 6 months
