Installing a long block
Been a lurker here for quite a while. I am planning on putting a new engine in my `70 Mach 1 . My local O`Reily`s auto parts store can get me a long blockfor about the same price as Mustang Unlimited.
Has anyone ordered an engine from MU? and what kind of results?
or your local auto parts store? I think MU has a better warranty.
Anyway,, any ideas would be helpful.

Personally, I wouldnt run one unless it were a daily driver that all you need from it is to get from point a to point b. Not much quality, lower compression, and parts that may or may not be actually replaced. I ran one in a cougar and I've rebuilt my own. Hands down the one bought from the parts store was trash compared to what I built. In a Mach I that kind of engine would be a crime IMO.

Well, its only going to get driven to car shows and maybe on back roads on nice days. It going to get a new Edelbrock intake and 600 cfm carb but that's all . The MU engine has a 36 month 100k warranty so that is kinda swinging me to that side of the argument. Im going to also have the tranny rebuilt. It has new u joints , shocks, disc brakes , harmonic balancer, hoses, ignition.
