Default 67 mustang purchase

I'm going to look at a 67 coupe...289 auto.original drive train..older resto...looks good...besides the usual areas for rust...any place particular for mustangs get rot that might get over looked and also any tips on what to look for..I'm not new to muscle cars...just mustangs..thanx guys

insifde sand outside of lower front door corners sand behind wheels at the bottom. along bottom inside edge of doors, floor pans. take a magnet, stick it everywhere.

tell owner not to start car before you get there. check engine by hand when you get there. if it is warm it has a problem the owner is trying to hide.

see if it smokes when first starting or when stepping on gas hard while in driveway and on road.

if the trans shifts siper soft or slips into next gear like a worn clutch it is bad.

listen to howling in rear end ast 40 mph.

check play in steering wheel, the front steering might be worn.
