I'll never forget the first time my brother and I pulled the engine out of the fastback. Up until then we had been an all Brand X family so Fords were new to us.

At the time he owned the car and man, were we proud. We checked, and double checked everything and had it all plumbed in, and about the only thing left to do was mount the starter.

He dove down under to mount the starter and let out a really pissed off scream, came storming out from under the car, glared at me and pointed at the mid-engine plate leaning up against the side of the barn.

Damnitsomuch.

But that is a mistake you only make once.
