The brakes weren't cheap because the entire system needed to be replaced. The last guy who worked on the brakes beat the drum on, damaging the studs. Hubs are shot too. so, its far more than just brake pads. Look at the damage below. Never seen that before.

The fuel system required a new sending unit, new gas tank, fuel filter, and all new lines.

The horn and blinkers are most likely related. If the signal switch is bad, or the harness under the column is bad it will affect both. Chances are it is the signal switch. It is an easy repair. You can get the switch from So Cal on McDowell or Mustang service center on Northern and 67th Ave.
You will also need to rent a wheel puller, autozone or oriellys.....

Thanks Billy. I'll start looking into that when I get the car back in my garage.

Yikes, wow. Thanks for the help- I'll need that. Today, I focused on the exterior. My plan to detail the exterior:

1. polish all aluminum and chrome with 0000 steel wool
2. finish with steel polish
3. hand wash
4. clay bar
5. medium cut
6. fine cut
7. liquid wax pure synthetic polymer

Here is a pic of the polished portion I worked on today
