Hi,
Is it a situation, wherein, the parts are too big to ship? Otherwise, there is Frankford Plating in Philly, Pauls Chrome in western PA.
Good Luck with your project.

There are a couple of things I want chrome so further researching its seems a lot of these places either are very expensive an there work is either inconsistent or people were unhappy with them. I think I am just going to order new parts at summit or cj pony it seems to work out to be cheaper. Thanks

Hi,
Yes, chroming is very expensive. You will always find folks who not happy with the work in some way. Many times, It's mis-communication between the customer and the plater, provided, one is dealing with a reputable business. I found my chrome finisher by attending shows and "cars and coffee" cruises-ins.
Buying re-po parts, although cheaper, can get you an inferior part not well finished, may not fit well, and is thinner in mass compared to your OEM part. You'll have to determine which parts are non-replaceable and those that are not significant enough, that a re-po can't replace.
I offer this from my experience in the total restoration/rebuild of the car in my sig.
Good Luck with your project.

Having stuff plated is often more expensive than buying the part new already chromed.

so true. i called a chromer for a quote on the bumpers for my 67. they were nearly $500 each. you can get a new set from cj for rough 200 or so.

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous what platers charge.
