Default ENGINE BLOCK CODE

I am looking for info on decoding the numbers on my engine block.
I have a 65 (might not be) coupe with a straight 6, I think it's a 200 1bbl

These are the #'s on the block: 6C3 C6DE-6015 B
These are the #'s on the head: 6B3 C6DE-6090 B 16

Can anyone help?

you should know if you have a 65. look at the FAQ at the top that will help you do some decoding. It would also help if you had the VIN look on the driver side fender for that.

Here is my problem...
I had posted another question last week.
My VIN on the door does not, in any way, match the car. We surmised that the door was replaced. No other VINs are visible at this time. I have to strip some paint down to find them or remove the fender. Until I have the time to do that I'm trying to find as much as I can about the rest of the car.

Did some digging (because I'm curious)... Not much background in this so take it for what it's worth.

If I read everything correctly, it's a 1966 engine destined for a falcon. That's not using a "engine" specific break down but using the ford part break down. Here's a site link:

Found some more info:

That's exactly waht I'm looking for, thanks. Although I'm no closer to finding whether I have a 1965 or a 1966, I still need to find another VIN

You can look at the rear gas caps, and side moulding to see whether it's a 65 or 66.

Look at the dash pad. If it has the little "ears" that go down around the radio, then it is a 66. If not, then it is a 65. Also, the single horizontal grille bar was replaced by several thin bars 1n 1966.
