Edelbrock carb with throttle lever kit HELP!!!

yeah, buy the bushing below, install it and make sure your throttle opens all the way when the pedal is on the floow and the pedal will be just abit even with the brake pedal then. drill a hole near the end of the rod for a cotter pin and install a washer under the pin.
you should have bought a holley.

Check this out.
JamesW turned me on to this when I was doing the throttle rod dick dance. It looks great, works great and is butter smooth and is a nice upgrade over factory.

It's an article that breaks it all down. I already had the brake line laying around and I bought the rest at Lowes for about $10.00 or so.

Hey, I use this one on the racecars. It has everything in it, rod, heims, bushings, screws & locknuts. Yes it $30, but it saves me a trip to the store (plus I buy enough from Lane to get free shipping). Longacre and Allstar make them as well. Summit, Speedway, Jegs, Lane, Pitstopusa, Motor State all carry them. For me its easier to get everything at once than cob it together.

Make sure that that center part is not nylon! Nylon is hygroscopic, absorbs water and swells. Ford used it back in the '60's in the carb as the throttle plate rod bearings. A lot of carbs stuck open because the nylon swelled and grabbed the throttle pivot rod not letting it return because the spring was too weak. Big recall if I remember on Falcons due to this.
