because your car is not the same as his and he currently has a fixed fan and it runs hot. it will run hotter with a clutch fan.

Like previously stated, pull out the thermostat and make sure that it's working and that it's installed correctly.

I switched to twin electric fans and a huge Be Cool radiator. It was pricey, it's not stock looking and mine is a daily driver. If yours is a weekend cruiser, a once a week driver and you want to keep a stock look, then go with the stock fan set up...and get that fan shroud in place. Also, you could be missing a spacer that goes in-between the fan and the water pump pulley. You want the fan as close to the radiator as possible. You'll need longer bolts too. If you can, post us a pic.

I drive in Florida during the summers with a factory brass 4 core, no shroud and a FoMoCo 7 blade flex fan out of an LTD and it never gets above 190 even in traffic.

100+ heat in Texas, 4 row brass radiator, stock shroud, stock clutch fan, never exceeded 190*. Worked great 50 years ago and still does today.l
