You can do this yourself with not too much trouble. I restored an original high profile Rally Pac for my 65 convertible a few years ago. This included stripping and repainting the housing with paint that "wrinkles" to the correct texture. I used the one made by Seymour of Sycamore. I think I still have a can on my shelf and can get the number, if you want. I used a process recommended to me by others that have done this that involves heating the stripped housing before repainting. It came out pretty nice. I have pictures of the process, as well as a pdf with detailed instructions (prob. too large to post in this thread). PM me and I would be happy to share.

if i were to restore one again, i would check with your local powder coater. most have a wrinkle paint that will hold up very well. the rest is just elbow grease.

I dug up some photos of my first Rally Pac paint job. For this one, I used a hair dryer to hurry up the wrinkle process. For a second one, I used a shop lamp with a 300w bulb. Either way, if you take your time and follow the directions, it will come out pretty good. Oh yeah, it's Seymour "Black Wrinkle" 16-2448.

I really wanted to see the attachments that you sent me on the Rally Pac but when I try to open them it says :You do not have permission to open these attachments" Why it says that I do not know. I guess I will try to do the Rally Pac myself today, sounds like a good project for the 4th of July. Thanks for your efforts!!
