Default Rear Seat Removal...

Well, before I can replace what looks to be the original rear shocks... On my '66 coupe...

I need to get the rear seat out. The book I have tells me nothing about this, and I can't see the obvious way to get it out.

Any experts out there give me some directions on this?

Thanks very much,

Jim.

on a coupe you can reaplace shocks in the trunk IIRC...there should be t2 dust caps up on the hump just before you get to the back of the rear seat.

However to ansnwer the question of the seat.

Push Down hard
Push Back hard
Pull Up hard
Yank out.

All at the same time.

Yeah, Nick is right. The rear shock towers are in the trunk. No need to take out the rear seats.

It's much easier to remove the rear seat. It's harder crawling into that trunk.

It is easier to do it by lifting the seat out. I did it. When you lift the seat out you are looking right at the shocks. You are not in any wierd postions as you are in the trunk.

I got to agree. I'm glad I took out the seat. I don't think I could contort myself well enough to get them from the trunk. Besides, gave me a chance to clean out all the crud under the seats.

Thanks for the help. All done.

Jim.

I tend to monkey around with my car....so I might as well act like a monkey when I need to...however....since I have a fastback...I just have to remove a panel to access my shocks :halo:

Dont feel to special Dodgestang. Our coupe back seats are pretty much held on by hooks.
