Help- power steering slave cylinder drop down bracket (for header install.) question
Hi
I'm new to this forum. I'm doing some work to my 67 coupe, and ordered a Magnaflow dual exhaust system and headers.
I ordered the power steering slave cylinder drop down bracket for the header install, but didn't think to get the bolts and washers for installing it.
I live in a remote area, and won't have time to order and receive the parts bag before my exhaust installation appointment in two days .
Can anyone tell me what exactly the bolt sizes are?
Thanks a bunch!
Here's what the install kit looks like:

Why wouldn't you use the same bolts that currently hold the cast iron bracket that I assume is on your car? The primary difference in brackets is the lowering of the slave cylinder so as to clear the new headers. I don't believe you need any different bolts than what you presently have on your car.

If you don't have your old bolts, run up to ACE and buy 3 or 4 sizes that look close, then try them back. Take back the one's that don't fit and get more of the ones that do.
My ACE guys new me by name, and I referred to the nut and bolt aisle as my second home.

The bracket uses more bolts than original setup, as you're now bolting cylinder to bracket and bolting bracket back onto car. Some original bolts will be re-used.
I'm taking it to the exhaust guy to install the headers and Magnaflows- can't be waiting there to determine what kind of bolts he needs after he undoes the slave cylinder, then run out to hardware store to get them.

Best of luck with the new bracket. Can't say about the bracket these days, but in the past I had to reinforce the drop-down arm to keep it from bending and/or breaking off the base. Good idea to keep an eye on it for a few months after install.

Agreed. My bracket snapped at the weld. It sucked. It uses the same bolts that are already on the car. Nothing else.. in fact you may be able to get away with using the stock bracket.. I did after the drop bracket snapped. It fit fine and is way stronger. All depends on your headers only way to check is to try. See if it works. Otherwise if you feel you really need new hardware, get on your back and pull off the bracket, it's only 3 bolts and a nut on the ram, I think. Then go buy grade 8 new stuff..
