I vote for the factory look shifter arm that is made to work with a T5. That's what I have and It is great! There is absolutely no way I'd use one of those funky looking remote style setups.

You get a shorter throw with a remote though. If you have a longer shift handle, your lever is longer and you have to row more. The idea behind the remote is that you can retain use of the short lever to get a short throw, because the mechanism provides a near 1:1 motion relationship.

Yeah, I know thats what the point is, but it looks hideous. I guess maybe if I had a track car that was all about function and cosmetics were not very important, I might consider it.

I don't think they look that bad. Someone definitely could make a really nice looking one that had a classic shift handle look to it. Make it seem like it belongs.
I think the M+ one is the only one? Only one I've seen at least.
