Default Removable hardtop for '65

I was lurking around Craigslist and found this ad. I was surprised to see it. Has anyone heard of a removable hardtop? You guys think this is something that someone just rigged up??

That's only a few hours from where I am. I've never heard of a hardtop convertible mustang, but that's a cool idea, I wish I had a hardtop convertible.

I used to live in the same town as these guys. I don't remember ever seeing one in person, though.

There was a hardtop for convertibles instead of the vinyl top way, way back. I was not a big seller. However, at the MCA Concord, CA, car show there was one.
There is also the conversion that Ron Bramlett did on one of his 'restomod' cars and that has evolved into others making similar conversions - hardtops for convertibles; retractable hardtops and a hardtop to convertible conversion. Where's aBatmobile when you need one?George Barris is alive.

That retractable hardtop that Mustangs Unlimited did was based off of a factory setup that Ford had researched and actually had made a working setup of it. Once Ford realized that they wouldn't be able to motorize it, they scrapped the idea.

I have a removable hardtop for my mustang.
I would post a photo if the site would let me.
I am from NY and got it when I bought my car to restore 12 years ago.
There is a photo of it on the mustangsandmore.com web site under my member name.

Check it out. I've come upon some hard times financially (lost a job and had to take one at less than half my salary) so I am looking to sell it.

Quick history (from what I researched)
Ford commissioned 100 hard tops for the prototype series of mustang designs.
Went through a couple of redesigns but the project was cancelled at the 11th hour.
Of the original 100 made there are only 3 left and mine is the only one with the original SunX rear window.
Donal Farr told me in an email response that I " have a rare piece of Mustang history"
I would love to keep it but I don't use it and I could really use the cash to help pay off some debt.
