ok, xlnt . . you will have one of the only ones.

here are the valves you need . . the stock valves are 2 piece and will separate guaranteed . . i would run lash caps with these so you might have the tips ground shorter by the thickness of the cap when you do the valve job.

use positive valve guide seals . . see example below.

Get the best exhaust valves you can find...don't ask me how I know.
And drill your block per this;

awesome guys. I am gonna put my stock 302 cam and lifters (hydraulic flat tappet) in the 289 currently residing in the car, long story but it ended up with solid lifter cam of unknown specs, stock spring etc etc, its a damn mess. that will get the car going for now until I finish my dream motor!

if any of you are interested in the 289 story, PM me and I will fill you in, but basically its a brand new engine (20 minutes on it) that I dont trust and is sketchy

Also, why would you recommend lash caps. I have read that they are only to correct bad geometry or wrong length push rods. I will be using roller, correct geometry rockers (not BBC ones) and will measure for pushrods when the rest is complete. I have read of them spitting out at high rpm. Not try to argue, just learning as I go, and I won't learn if I dont ask, right!

Thanks for the help so far guys, this place is very helpful!

Good lash caps won;t break . . the caps are harder than the stainless valves and the lower dollar stainless valves wear prematurely on the top especially if it has high spring rates or non roller rocker tips etc.

So I just went and grabbed my 4v heads. Holy hell those ports are huge!

This thing ought to breath pretty awesome!

I read that page about swaps, but it was mostly geared toward 65-66, the 67's and "newer" had more engine bay width, correct?

Any thoughts on which brand of headers is preferable? I had hooker super comps on my 460 foxbody and they were a nice fit, but this is a totally different animal. Also, I found some nice looking ones on fordpowertrain.com, but no prices listed, Anyone have a ballpark?

I also keep finding references to a "blue thunder" clevor intake, but I cant seem to find one

Also, what can you guys tell me about the water cross over relocation kits? Is the need for one dependant on the intake? Or will all swaps end up with one?

The 4 top contenders for intakes are:
New Edelbrock clevor intake
Trick flow track heat for clevor swap
Track boss
street boss

Keep in mind that any C headers will not drop down as low due to the difference in block height, so be prepared for a tight fit.
As for intake, pick whichever you can get easiest, and probably avoid a dual plane if you plan on more power.
I had a 377 2V clevor for many years and 20k+ miles, twice...both dropped an exhaust valve, so get the best ones you can find.
