Default wiring gremlins

hey all hope you can help

So my 66 is having some electrical gremlins, and I could use some help trying to figure out where the issue is.
If I press the brake, the instrument cluster lights up and so does the shift indicator. I dont have any flickering of the headlights.
I have a new turnsignal and horn to put in and also have a new headlight switch, but I am wondering whether anyone might know how to chase this gremlin.

thanks
christian

.
yes . . if you have a new turn signal switch, install it first and see if that fixes it . . otherwise start with 1 wire at a time from the switch to the tail lites and a wiring diagram.

heres a ford one.

One question, you aren't saying whether your head lights are on or off at the time. If your head lights are on, then it's one prob, if the head lights are off, then it's a different problem. look at your brake pedal arm and see if you're hitting any loose wires, there is one or two ground wires in that's area.

hi all.

The issues occured when headlights were on... no right blinker.. just a solid light. replaced the turnsignal sitch and wiring, the headlight switch, and then decided to upgrade to the LED brake and turnsignal lights.. When I replaced the standrd flasher with the elctronic flasher required for the LEDS everything worked! So I am assuming something was up with the circuit to the flasher.

PS, the LEDS brake lights and front turn signals are really very bright, a good switrch from the incandescent bulbs. Also replaced the interior lights with LEDS, not such a fan for the under dash LEDS, the beam width is too focussed.

thank you all for your input

cheers

What I end up doing is getting a few door lights off a maxima in the junkyard, or a lexus es300..they hold a 194 style bulb, and are compact enough to tuck up under the dash, out of the way..the lens has the reflectors inside as well
