I run Amsoil these days, I think the newer Rotella T keeps getting the formula changed and isn't like the older stuff.

What oil pump are you running and what's your pressure throughout the rpm range?

I am running new trick flow track heat heads

I use Rotella t oil, I think it is a 40 weight

My oil pan is a stock type pan but does have a magnet oil plug

It's frustrating because I built the dam car to drive it hard and I can't seem to make an engine last.
ok, got ya . . your only option is to find a GOOD engine builder that will give you a warranty.

do NOT use rotella oil . . use regular engine oil.

valvoline vr-1 15-40

brad penn penngrade 1 15w-40

if you want synthetic after you break it in royal purple xpr. 15w-40

I agree with the others: stop using the Rotella. I run Valvoline VR-1 10W-30, mostly because of the high ZDDP content. Although you don't necessarily need a high-zinc oil with your roller cam, VR-1 is still a good quality oil that will take the beating you're going to put it through.

actually the zddp protects every moving part of the engine, and most if not all oils made have zddp in them including synthetics and mobil 1 which has around 900 ppm, lol.

all rotella t is now epa compliant and has a small sunburst on the label . . non sunburst labeled rotella is an older formulae with higher levels of zddp . . the new stuff has around 1100 ppm.

I think I am going to buy the ATK 347 short block from summit.

My current 331 is so new it doesn't even have a spot of dirt on it. I bet I will pull it and barly have to wash my hands..

Im tired of spending money on engines...

I really want to try and make Drag week for the first time this year, but if it keeps going this way I will need a trailer with a couple extra engines in it.

I can't recommend an ATK build. While supposedly their performance department is separate from everything else, I've seen too many sketchy factory-replacement motor defects from them to have much faith in their quality control.

Yeah, that's why I run the Amsoil Dominator, they're generous with the zddp.

And the whole change is based on the THEORY that the cat COULD get damaged by the zinc....yet there's never been a single documented case of it happening. But hey...the government is looking out for us, right? =\
