70 boss 302

Hi all, new to the board and have a question. I'm looking to buy a 70 boss 302 and I can't find the vin on the block I read that it should be toward the rear by the bell housing. Can't find it. Is it passenger or driver side? How can I easilly find it. Thanks, Craig

IIRC, it's usually stamped on the flat just behind the intake manifold.

yup, it faces upward on the drivers side . . if it aint there, the engine aint orig.

make sure that $1,000.00 rear leaf springs are orig too.

Didn't they have staggered rear shocks also?

I have a friend that is selling a 70 BOSS 302 Numbers matching and did not know about the different rear leaf springs. Thanks Barnett468 on teaching me something new today.
