Default LED Tail Light Bulbs

I want to replace the regular 1157 bulbs with brighter ones, so I'm looking into LEDs. Can't decide which would be brighter - white, clear, or red? What's your experience with these bulbs? Maybe halogen?

The single LED bulb will likely be brighter only in the very center if it is brighter at all. The rest will be dimmer.

I have seen a halogen 1157, but don't know how well it works. I did hear from a few that its a bit brighter.

If your set on LED, you need a kit with panels that go in place of the bulb.

I converted mine to 3 bulb housings from Scott Drake. These can be used as sequential or standard.

If its your tail lights, put the red LED bulb in. I just did mine and it is noticeably better. The one thing that doesn't help is the reflective properties of the bucket, there are none. A chrome bucket or reflector would improve the brilliance. I replaced my flasher, but only because it was bad, my emergency flasher is original and it still operates the new LEDs.

These are made by a fellow I met at a car show in northern Illinois. He demonstrated them to me. And they are by far the vest ones IO have seen from anybody. They are fully adjustable as far as speed. Or whether you want them, to strobe out when you stop. Brights I have seen also..

Best LED Light on the market today
120 Super-bright Automotive Grade LEDs
Microprocessor controlled
User adjustable sequence rate
Standard or Sequential brake lights
Simple Plug-n-Play installation
No wiring harness modifications required. Original style thermal flashers will not work with LEDs, you will need to replace the flasher module.

That looks better than the Mustang Project lights, which I thought were the best. If I was going to switch to LED, I think I'd try these. I really like my incandescent Scott Drake sequentials though.

Trying to get my video transferred over so I can post it. But till then you can go to "Mustangs of Illinois" and see it. Not sure why it looks so fast on the video, it doesn't flash that fast in real time...

Thanks for posting this! I have been spending a lot of time researching this and had thought Mustang Project had the best kits. I really like the versatility of this product more.
