Temperature gauge not working after installing new rad
I recently put in a new intake manifold, carb and radiator to replace the original stock parts that were deteriorating. Now for some reason the temp gauge is no longer working. It had always worked previously and I confirmed that the gauge itself and the wiring is working (I can short the wire end out and the gauge moves). I thought it must the be the temp probe that the wire attaches to (the part that screws into the top of the intake) so I replaced that but nothing changed.
The rad is a new aluminum high performance model by US Radiator so at first I thought maybe it had it running so cool it wasn't registering? But I called them and they said that wasn't possible, even as efficient as they are it will still read something. The only other thing is that the temp probe looks like it might not be screwed in all the way? There are still threads on it showing, I stopped screwing it in because it wasn't moving anymore and I didn't want to strip it but is it possible that the probe needs to be set into it lower or something? Anyone encountered anything like this?

.
test for continuity between the sender housing and the intake. if youu sd teflon tape it might not be grounded.
with the engine warm . . ground the sender body to the battery and have someone see if the gauge moves.
if nothing happens put your old sender in a pan of cold water and read the ohms . . then heat until near boiling and read the ohms.
