Default 1966 with problems, please help!

My parents have a 66 convertible sitting in the garage because of a problem we don't know how to address it. The front wheels and bending outward from the bottom, and sagging a bit. Is this something we can fix? and fix cheaply? We have family members that can weld, but we don't know what the problem is. Is this a common problem for old mustangs? Any advice would help!

.
probably needs new springs and possibly suspension parts . . look under the hood at the two nuts that hold each arm on . . see if there are any cracks there or outward around 4 inches from the nuts.

define "arm" I checked all around the car, and inside the hood, and I see no cracking. A new spring would fix the wheels bending outward? A couple years ago a mechanic said he would have to weld the unibody for a couple of thousand, but i dont see cracks and he wasn't very specific, is new spring something we can do ourselves?

You mean the bottoms of the wheels are further apart than the tops? How much 1/4 inch 1 inch, 4 inches? If only a small amount, it may be shim adjustments which an alignment shop can do. If more then there must have been damage.

.
you need to have someone knowledgeable look at it . . unless you are a mechanic, you can not do any suspension work yourself . . its kinda hard and requires special tools.
