Question 1966 Reverse lights not working?

I checked all the fuses, all fine, there is no power at the sockets, to either one, i CANT start the car in REVERSE or DRIVE, so seems the neutral safety switch is working, what else can i check?

PO installed a aftermarket radio in the glove box which i hate, i would've just done a new stock one in the same spot as the stock radio, but its allready there and works.

They had the radio's power wire (red wire) going to the top 14amp fuse which is the back up lights fuse, with the radio on and the gear in REVERSE position it would blow the fuse, so i ended up putting that red wire on the bottom fuse which is a 20 amp and its only for the emergency flashers and the cigarette lighter, so i put it there and everything works, it does not blow the fuse,

so the reverse lights work great which is awesome, that was me issue, fuse does not get blown anymore, and now the radio works with the other circuit and does not blow its fuse, ONLY problem/issue is, that bottom 20 amp circuit has POWER ALL THE TIME, so i will have to add a ON/OFF botton for the radio, so i can turn it on and off.

Just run it to keyed power. You can add an inline fuse too if you want one
