Yup, I have a few lengths of those studs from various setups over the years.

Ok so I think summit either sent me the wrong intake or their application charts are wrong, because I checked before I ordered and just checked again. There are 2 more bolts per side on the oe intake than there are on my new one.

Edelbrocks website even shows it as correct with the same intake I have!

Ok panic over I guess, says right on there website will work with 16 bolt intakes. So I guess I ignore the ones they eliminated and run the 16 bolt gaskets.

I just didn't realize that the new intake eliminates the need for 2 bolts on each side of the intake (4 total). Instead of 16, you use 12.

if your head and intake both have 16 bolt holes you better use every single one of them

Somewhere along the line Ford changed the bolt pattern along with the water ports IIRC.

If you look under 351w you'll see what I'm talking about.

The new intakes don't have as many bolts as the old one because they don't need to anymore. I guess gaskets got better, but it says right there will work fine with 16 bolt heads with a 16 bolt intake gasket

I read that inserting brass female fittings into the intake ports (1 for water temp sensor, one for manifold vacuum, and one for heater hose) will prevent the fluid/vacuum fittings from seizing in the aluminum threads. Is this something I should do? It does seem like a good idea to me... If so, how do I determine the thread sizing of each?
