Default Need a 289 or 302 for my 65

Are there any good and trusted vendors who sell rebuilt 289 or 302 engines? I don't have an engine I can use.

Thanks for your help.

Are you looking for period correct flat tappet motors or rebuilt roller motors? Cost wise, you can't go wrong with a Ford Racing crate 306 from Summit.

Thanks, I will definitely check out Summit. I'm just looking for a good motor that I can bolt in with my C4 and stock converter. I've seen a couple of sellers on eBay that look interesting too.

I have purchased two from companies that advertise online. I had problems with both of them. It was a total PITA.
If you care to know who, pm me and I will let you know. I'm not into slamming people publically.
Neither of them are listed above

Hi,
New member. I have a 1964 289 pulled from my convertible at the rebuild. Its been sitting in my basement for 30 years or so. Running when it was removed but leaking rod seals. Consider it a good starter kit for a re-build. I put a 260 back into the car. I am in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We are moving soon.

www.fordstrokers.com

although personally what i would do is grab a explorer 5.0 if youre on a budget from your local lkq pull a part. usually the last weekend of the month they have a half off sales and you can get a complete 5.0 explorer motor for about 150$ or less. grab it sell the intake to a 5.0 efi guy for about 150$ then your motor is free. add yourself a cam and some roller rockers and youll now have the equivalent of a 93-95 cobra 5.0 motor. add your intake, carb, your front dress items, a distributor compatible with a roller cam and a 50oz balancer fnr 50oz flexplate/flywheel and youll be in business..

Why not pull your current engine and have a shop rebuild it?
