sputtering is usually a rich condition or weak coil

Must be a rich condition then because it's a new coil. I have to see how to adjust this carb then because it has the two needles that I adjust for best vacuum, I am not a carb guy.

Turn them in 1 at a time slowly. Go about 1/8 turn at a time and wait a bit to turn again. once you get to where it starts to stumble, back it out 1/4 turn. Don't worry about vacuum. That just usually messes people up.

Just because it's a new coil doesn't mean it's a good coil. I carried a "new" coil around in the trunk of the fastback for 10 years as a spare and only when I needed it when the one I had installed took a dump on me did I find out that it was no good at all. It made me feel real good knowing I had been giving a complete piece of crap a free ride for 10 years.

One way to find out is to check the color of your spark. Eliminate the stupid stuff first.. What color is your spark??
