Default Holding engine up with 2x4 on oil pan?

Is this an acceptable way to hold engine up during motor mount install? Don't have crane, and I know I've read it's okay as long as its the front most portion of the oil pan. Ordered them with 1/2" drop to help with my driveline angles plus future header install.

I've done it for short periods of time.

Try to spread out the pressure as much as possible, ie, piece of plywood on top of the 2x4 and don't kink the pan then you should be fine.

I've seen the whole front end lifted that way...not so good on the pan or motor mounts. But just the motor seems fine. Don't squash anything you want to keep, like fingers...

I would use plywood, especially on an aluminum pan.
