Default Radiator hoses 351w

Hey guys, have a question for any guys who have swapped a 351w in their mustangs. Mine is a 67. Would 302 radiator hoses work for a 351w. As far as reaching the radiator

They might. However check the locations of the radiator outlets. Our later (87) 302 had the upper on the passenger side and the lower on the driver side. I thought early 302's et al had the locations reversed. Ours was a repower from a 6. The upper radiator outlet was to close to the center causing the fan to hit the hose. So check the fan hose clearance before going too far.

Using an electric fan so the fan hitting won't be a problem and the outlets are driver side on the bottom and passenger side on the time. Which is right for the outlets on the motor

Then they should fit. There is a long spring like piece that goes in the lower driver side one to keep it from collapsing. It is readily available and cheap but if not used may cause the lower hose to collapse under suction,

On a factory correct setup, if you're keeping the same radiator they will fit. If you are upsizing, which I would recommend, then they will need to be changed.

The spread is different. We went through this with the 87 engine and a new 3 core radiator. We ended up with a thick corrugated lower hose to make the bends required to meet the lower engine input. We measured the distance and bought 2 hoses one slightly longer and the other maybe an inch longer off the internet, They were only about $8 each so we bought both and one did fit. The upper hose was a new one but sized for a 67 V8. It fit OK and kept the hose away from the fan.
