Reupholstering ?
Now that I have a fresh, new carpet my seats really look like hell comparatively speaking.
I have a set of highback buckets out of a '72 and they need the full monte. Foam, covers, and whatever else is involved.
Have any of you guys ever done a seat rebuild like this? I want to go back with the stock look and new foam so can anybody offer up any tips or "gotchas" that I should know before I take the leap? Looking at pricing on several different websites it doesn't look like it's going to be an inexpensive endeavor so I want to do it right the first time.
I was able to meander my way through putting a new convertible top on my 02 so I figure that with some instruction I should be able to pull this off ok.

These old seats aren't too bad to reupholster. Make sure you have a good pair of Hog ring pliers and a pair of side cutters for when you miss the clamp area with the hog ring.(it happens to everyone)
Keep the upholstery warm before trying to put it over the foam rubber. The more flexible it is the better it will turn out.
If at all possible put them together on a carpeted table instead of a sheet of ply wood or wooden bench. There will be less chance of scuffing the new material. Even putting a blanket on the table or bench would help.

Well, I did it. Luck of luck, CJ's is having 30% off of their interiors right now so I went and kissed the ugly baby and ordered a set of TMI foam, upholstery, hogrings & pliers.
We'll see how this goes.
