Long Term Storage Restart

Long Term Storage Restart
Howdy Folks! I own a 68 Fastback Mustang that has been in storage for a number of years. I have owned this car since 1988 and although she has been on the shelf for a while I still love her dearly, and find myself with an opportunity to rekindle our relationship. Unfortunately, she never had the benefit of a fuel stabilizer or other proper storage precautions, so starting the old girl may be a bit of a challenge. I plan to change all the fuel, heater, and radiator hoses, flush the cooling system, inspect the thermostat, pump out the old fuel, change both the 'tranny fluid (C-6) and engine oil, as well as pulling the carburetor float bowls to assess the amount of varnish in the carb. The plug wires and Mallory coil appear to be in good shape, and the distributor has been upgraded so there is no condenser or points to worry about. Am I missing anything? Does anybody know any tricks to de-varnishing a Holley carb short of a full rebuild? I'm really looking forward to hearing my ol 'Stang up and rumbling again, so any advice is welcome! Thanks!

Thanks Dave, that's great advice! Out with the old and in with the new... I got all the old hoses removed and all the fluids drained today. I'll be dropping some serious coin at the local Napa store tomorrow after watching the Daytona 500! Go Dale Jr.!!!
