Default v8 swapped '65 mustang rear drum help needed

I am currently helping a friend rebuild the rear drum brakes in her '65 ford mustang, which was originally a 6 cyl, and swapped to a 289. im not sure what the rear end is out of, however i have found all parts (Shoes, Self-adjusting kit, and wheel cylinders) except for the Spring hardware kit; all parts i have found are off of around a 1979 ford granada, and all parts have matched to the old ones with the exception of the spring hardware kit. i have spent many hours looking for the right spring kit online and in auto parts stores and come up empty. does anyone recognize these springs and what vehicle they might be from? (I have also looked for the ID tag on the rear end, and it is missing)

those springs are fairly standard for shoe brakes, what you're missing is the shoe hold down pins and parking brake spreader bar. see if this helps. Any good auto parts place should have this hardware.

I have all the original hardware, however the springs in the picture are quite worn, looking for a new set of springs, but every set ive found doesn't match the old ones. Trying to find new springs.

Is there any tag on the rear-end to identify it? I don't think Ford had all that many different drum brake setups. A hardware kit should be easy enough to source.

No there isn't any tag. I've sourced all the parts including the Shoe's, the self adjusting kit, and the wheel cylinders. They all matched to parts from a 1979 ford granada, however every spring hardware kit I find, the springs don't match and the hold down pins are always too long.

Yep sounds like a pitfall of buying someone else project no way to tell what is what. I'm not sure the best way to go about it then wonder it the PO modified something to make it work.

yeah, it wouldnt have been my first choice either. dont like to play guessing games... but im starting to wonder if the PO threw together his own spring kit or something, and i have though about trying it myself but would only do so as a very last resort, id really perfer things to work like they are supposed to with correct parts.

My 70 has 2" rears stock. It is a 428 car. My guess is you could use a standard v8 car hardware kit. The backing plate may not be correct for the application though.
