Default 1965 Mustang Dash restoration

Hello,

The current dash in my 1965 Mustang coupe 289 is in need of a restoration.

What is the best way to go about: removing it, cleaning it up, colour change?

Are there any recommended modifications to do to the dash to modernise it, such as radio or speakers?

thanks.

A digital dash would modernize the hell out of it. There are also updated analog gauge packages available also. As far as radios upgrades go there are countless ways to attack that but whatever you do, don't cut the dash.

Did my dash last year, prior to doing the rest of the interior. I like all original gauges and such. To make the dash look like a world of difference all new chrome bezels and lenses with fresh paint will make it pop really good. ( especially with a rally pack) I took the steering wheel and column off and all the bezels and trim. Then took 250 grit followed by 400 wet and cleaned it up and painted with Scott drake paint. When all the components were cleaned up and painted it made the car look like a million bucks while driving.

Only thing non correct is the 3 gauge under dash unit here

New steering wheel as well, this besides the rally pack was the only expensive component
