I am considering buying a new engine for my 67' now a 289 V8, i just want another opinion about what size to get. Obviously a new transy and other things are in order, but i wanna make it still look original with the badges on the sides and everything complying with the engine size. I want an engine size that was offered for the 67' coupe and not one from a different year or model. Consider availability and price when thinking about this.

Stick with the 289. A set of aluminum heads and a good intake, carb, cam etc. will make that little 289 scream. Otherwise if I were looking far a good running engine that would look stock I would go with a 351 W.

I would have to agree. The 289 was, is, a fantastic engine. For a little bit of expense you can have a great machine that will make many a Camaro wonder what hit 'em!

It's really a matter of personal taste. But I prefer the original blue. However if you're not interested in originality the choice is yours. I've seen some really good looking black engines as well.

I've got a rebuilt 289 that I painted Ford blue. It turned out really nice, so I'm a fan of that color.

Another thing you might wanna do ismake certain thingsstick out on the engineby painting them flat black. Like the Air intake, the cap on the valve cover, that kinda stuff. Makes it feel less bland in my eyes.<IMG src=smileys/smiley1.gif border="0">
