basically the same thing as a california special for california...except i think it was released in colorado or something.........
anyways....its got some badging and stuff...i dono anything else......im thinking the body is the same as a regular coupe....

Yeah, as far back as 65-66 the Denver regional office was offering these promotional cars. There were only a few hundred HCS's offered in '68, and they were only offered in the hard top version, so if you run across one for sale, they are rare. Here is the badge they will have on them.

The High Country Special was produced in 1966, 1967 and 1968 only. In 66 and 67 they came in only 3 colors and were hardtops/coupes, fastbacks and convertibles. In 1968 the style was changed to look like the GT/CS California Special GT/CS. They were available in all the 68 colors, but only in a hardtop/coupe. The DSO number is 51 for Denver. If your car has that DSO and you think it may be an HCS, then that would be a good sign. Check out www.highcountryspecial.com or www.californiaspecial.com for more info.
