Best thing to do is shop around reputable paint shops and restoration shops... depends a lot on the condition of your car (does it need body work?) and even of the paint on it now - do you plan on stripping it down to bare metal or painting over the existing paint? All these considerations have to be factord into a paint job. And will you tear the care down to parade rest to paint or have them mask it to paint. You can spend $200 or $20,000. Not saying how much mine cost, lol (The wife might find out...)

It depends on how far you want to go with the body restoration. Mine cost me 5 grand.

5K Soaring? Let's see, that would probably paint my trunk lid, LOL. Just kidding - don't get testy... gotta laugh about what we spend on these toys or we would go insane... Definitely a labor of love and a pit to shovel money into, but I for one wouldn't have it any other way - can't take it with you!

That sounds about right, depending on how much rust the paint job requires to remove and replace with metal.

i paid 4200 for mine. They put two quarter skins, rear inner fenders, front inner fenders, new hood, new hinge pins, replaced headliner, painted car while glass was out, and they painted my interior(doors, dash, etc). Couldn't have asked for a better job

That sounds resonable at $4k. One thing you dont want is a house of bondo paint job. You know, they guys who dont pull dents or replace rusty panels, they just slap bondo on it or some fiberglass mat. You get what you pay for, and paint is one place where that is readily apparent to everyone who sees your car.

I havent ever had anyone paint one of my cars, but I have asked what others would do it for. Results vary wildly, some say $2000, one guy said $6k for a respray and no body work. IMO a driver doesnt need a $10k+ paint job. See what kinda work they do at the shop, if they actually fix things then thats a good price.
